Dr Erica Miller & staff provided such wonderful, attentive care for our 12yr old male cat Domino at both locations during a very difficult time. He’s continuing to improve each day with treatment received & we couldn’t be more grateful for their gentle kindness, patience & quality medical care he received. We’ve used VetStop clinic for 20+ years for all of our pets. We adopted Domino from them as a kitten - will always highly recommend, thank you all so very much!
I take my little dog to Dr. Tammy Beckman at the VETSTOP New Town location. I love this location and Dr. Beckman and her team. They are very professional and knowledgeable, yet so friendly, gentle and sweet to my little girl, Tulla.
Dr. Beckman is very in tune with her and always determines exactly what her issues are. She is elderly, losing her hearing and sight but she feels very comfortable with Dr. Beckman and her assistant. I’m quite confident with our relationship.
I’m extremely unimpressed with the service I’ve received from this vet, and have concerns about both the quality of care and how clients are treated.
To start, I was charged $65 for a single antibiotic prescription—amoxicillin, to be exact. I’ve also been repeatedly advised to use medicated shampoos for my dog’s skin issues, none of which have worked. In fact, the shampoos provided have seemed to make her coat issues worse. Ironically, an Aveeno bath, which I was specifically advised against, is the only thing that has actually cleared up her skin.
I understand that veterinarians have professional recommendations to make, but when a client’s firsthand experience consistently contradicts those recommendations, I believe that deserves to be acknowledged rather than dismissed. Integrity, communication, and listening to your clients go a long way.
The appointment cancellation policy is another major concern. This practice uses an AI platform to confirm appointments, and I made the effort to communicate through that system that I needed to cancel or reschedule. However, I was informed that if the system doesn’t notify the office in time, I could be treated as a no-call, no-show. I was then contacted and warned that if it happened again, I would be marked as a no-call, no-show.
I am a paying client, not an employee who needs to be reprimanded. I did my due diligence by communicating through the system provided. There is a professional way to communicate expectations without making customers feel as though they are being scolded.
And let’s talk about punctuality. For a practice that seems so concerned about clients respecting its time, I would expect that same courtesy to be extended to its clients. I arrived for my scheduled appointment, only to find that the doctor was not ready because a feline patient had come in with a medical issue. I understand that emergencies happen, and I have compassion for animals in need. However, my time matters, too. I drove out there for an appointment scheduled at a specific time, and I was left waiting still at 9:10a (regardless of early arrival, dr should've been ready by 9a, or a tech could've walked in to communicate -Rather, after 30 minutes I had to leave out of the room to see what was going on)
At what point does the practice take accountability for the time and inconvenience of its own clients?
Between the cost of services, the lack of results from the recommended products, the communication surrounding cancellations, and the disregard for my time, this experience has left me with very little confidence in the practice.
Would I spend any more of my money here? Absolutely not.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Clients deserve to be treated with respect, listened to when they raise concerns, and communicated with professionally. Learning how to speak to and treat the people who support your business is just as important as providing the service itself.
